HONOR ID is a basic service provided by Shenzhen Honor Software Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "HONOR", "we", "our", or "us") to help you better use your device and enjoy a convenient and fast experience. HONOR takes your personal information and privacy seriously and is committed to taking appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in accordance with relevant laws and established industry security standards.

  1. After you log in with your HONOR ID on your phone, your HONOR ID will be used as a pass for HONOR's terminal services to ensure consistent user experience and security authentication for HONOR Club, HONOR Store, HONOR Choice, My HONOR, and other services provided by other HONOR terminal devices or relevant partners. HONOR ID also serves as your HONOR premium member, supporting membership benefits.

  2. We have built a robust risk management system to protect your rights, the rights of other users, and ours, to prevent illegal activities such as fraud and reduce credit risk.

  3. Your HONOR ID will be linked to your device to provide better services and support.

  1. How Do We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

We will collect and use your personal information based on the purposes described in this statement and in accordance with the principles of lawfulness, legitimacy, necessity, and transparency. If we use your personal information for other purposes not specified in this statement or collect your personal information for other specific purposes, we will inform you reasonably. If your consent is necessary, we will obtain your consent before using your personal information.

To provide you with this service and fulfill our contractual obligations, HONOR will process and use your personal information for the following purposes:

  1. Collection and Use of Personal Information for Basic Identity Management

  1. Using HONOR ID

When you create an HONOR ID, we will collect the HONOR ID you enter, your device identifier, and network information. When you complete additional information on your account, we use that information to provide you with a better service and experience. For example, we use your date of birth to determine the age of the HONOR ID holder and provide appropriate services accordingly.

When you log in to your HONOR ID, we will collect your device identifier, network information, and browser settings. You can also log in to your HONOR ID with a linked third-party account, such as a WeChat account. The nickname and profile picture you set in your third-party account may be used as those of your HONOR ID. After you log in with your HONOR ID on your device, you will be automatically logged into other services we provide (such as HONOR Club, HONOR Store, HONOR Choice, and My HONOR) when you use them. These services will use the information associated with your HONOR ID. Your HONOR ID will also be your HONOR premium member. Your ID information (including your phone number) will be used as the membership identifier when you become a member to calculate your credits and points. For details, please refer to the Statement About HONOR Premium Member and Privacy (https://agreement.itsec.hihonor.com/asm/agrFile/getHtmlFile?agrNo=1122&country=cn&branchId=0&langCode=zh-cn).

Alternatively, you can use your enrolled fingerprint information to sign in instead of your account password, which will only be stored in a secure and trusted area of your device.

You can also use your HONOR ID to log in to third-party services. The third-party service providers will obtain the information associated with your HONOR ID that you consent to share. You can go to Settings > Account center > Privacy center > Permission management to manage your account permissions.

  1. Real-Name Authentication

You can complete the real-name authentication in your HONOR ID so that you can use your real-name information while using applications. During real-name authentication, we will encrypt the information on your valid ID card, including your name and ID number, and transfer it to our service providers to check and verify your identity. If we need to further confirm the accuracy of the information you provide, we may also need the ID photo and your face image/video. We do not keep your ID photo and face image/video information.

After you complete your real-name authentication, we will validate/update your age information (e.g., date of birth) of your HONOR ID to ensure that the appropriate services can be provided to you.

We will store the valid ID information you provide in an encrypted form and show it anonymously on the device. To meet national laws and regulations and the provisions of regulatory agencies, other HONOR services (such as HONOR Club) will use your real-name authentication information. Meanwhile, to provide the necessary services, your real-name authentication information will be provided to third-party services but only after your express consent and confirmation.

  1. Collection and Use of Personal Information for Basic Device Management

  1. Device Interconnection

When you purchase our devices and log in to HONOR ID, your HONOR ID can be used as a pass to provide you with a consistent interconnection experience. You can go to Account center > My devices to manage the devices logged in to your ID previously. When you use Bluetooth to pair multiple devices, we will collect your Bluetooth device identifiers for smart accessory connection and store this information on our servers for device authentication purposes. When you use the devices for Smart Home or Health and enable related services, HONOR ID will be used to obtain your device identifiers for display purposes only.

  1. Find Device

You can use the Find Device feature after logging in to your HONOR ID on your device. Find Device will be enabled automatically when your login method meets the requirement, such as login with both the password and SMS verification code. You can locate your device (the system will turn on Location to find the device), ring, or lock the device, erase data, and prevent the device from being rooted or reactivated without your HONOR ID and password. If your Bluetooth device is paired with your phone and has the Find Device feature, you can also locate and ring that device. To locate the device, with authorization from your HONOR ID, we will check the last reported location information of the device. In this regard, we will collect your account information, device identifier (UDID), and precise location information of your device. When locating the device, we will collect your precise location information every 90 seconds until you end the search for the device. If you turn on "Send the last location", your device will report its last precise location information to the server before running out of battery.

When you turn on the "Enable mobile data remotely" function and the device cannot be located because it is offline, you can tap the offline device on the device list to trigger the SMS connection. The command related to finding the device will be sent by SMS to turn on the mobile data for the offline device. When you use any of the Find Device, "Play ringtone", "Lost mode" or "Erase data" functions of this offline device, the SMS connection command will also be triggered. To provide you with the "Enable mobile data remotely" function, we will collect the number of the SIM card inserted into your device. If another SIM card is inserted, we will collect the new SIM card number and delete the original SIM card number immediately.

If the "Lost mode" is enabled for the device, you can set the SIM card password (PIN) remotely, and when the device is rebooted or the SIM card is inserted/removed, the SIM card password will be required. For this, we need to process the device identifier. We do not store your SIM card PIN.

In addition to the above functions, Find Device can display the current SIM card number and network information to increase the likelihood of finding your device in case you lost it.

Lost mode can lock the device and make it report location data every 10 minutes. Your device's location data will all be encrypted and kept for 24 hours only. When you unlock the device, the reported location data will be erased automatically.

When you use these functions on the website (https://cloud.hihonor.com) of Find Device, we will collect your browser settings, IP address, cookies, and data usage information to improve our services. You can turn Find Device on or off at any time on its home page.

  1. HONOR Cloud

The specific services and features we provide to you may vary depending on the system version but will not exceed the scope described in this statement. For systems earlier than MagicOS 8.0, HONOR Cloud is called Data Sync, which provides you with the synchronization function.

(3.1) Data Sync

HONOR Cloud provides users with Data Sync feature to help them sync their data to HONOR servers. Any change in data on your device and the Cloud will trigger the sync and keep it up to date across devices you have logged in and have HONOR Data Sync enabled, including:

  1. Information about paired Bluetooth devices

  2. Calendar events

  3. Account numbers and passwords in the HONOR Password Vault

  4. Notes

  5. Contacts

  6. Wi-Fi

  7. Gallery (only for MagicOS 8.0 and later)

You can go to Settings > Account center > Data sync or HONOR Cloud and turn on/off the switches of the corresponding data to control the data synchronization between your device and the Cloud. To provide this feature, we need to process your device identifier, HONOR ID information, OS version, network information, and the synced data.

You can also use Gallery Migration on your computer to upload local photos and videos to the Cloud.

(3.2) Cloud Backup

Cloud Backup can help you back up your data to HONOR servers so that you can restore your data on a new device quickly. When the device that you have logged in meets the conditions for Wi-Fi, available storage, and power level, you can turn on automatic backup (once every 7 days) or manually back up your data, including:

  1. System app data: contacts, calendar events, messages, call logs, recordings, and call recordings

  2. System settings

  3. Third-party app data: WeChat

You can go to Settings > Account center > HONOR Cloud or Cloud Backup to turn on/off the data backup function and manage Backup settings. You can tap a backup record to delete or restore the backup. To provide this feature, you need to process your device identifier, HONOR ID information, OS system, network information, and the synced data.

To provide comprehensive data protection, HONOR will encrypt the data you sync and back up. For example, HONOR Password Vault uses end-to-end data encryption technology and decrypts the encrypted data only on devices that are logged in to your HONOR ID and have been trusted by you. The encrypted content can't be parsed in the Cloud, and HONOR can't obtain the plaintext from it.

(3.3) Cloud membership

When your cloud storage is insufficient, you can subscribe to HONOR Cloud VIP plans to store more data in the larger storage and continue to enjoy the data sync and backup services.

You can go to Settings > Account center > HONOR Cloud > Renewal management to view and manage your subscriptions and auto-renewals. To provide the service, we need to process your device identifier, HONOR ID information, basic device information, network information, and VIP purchase records.

When you receive and use coupons, we will collect your account information, country code and language code in system settings, basic device information, network information (IP address), and records of coupon collection and use, so that you can view and manage your coupons at any time and carry out risk control to prevent fraud and other illegal activities.

New device gifts: To identify whether you are eligible for the new device gifts and to provide you with the corresponding benefits if eligible, we may need to process your deviceID, UDID, HONOR ID information, basic device information, network information, and VIP purchase records.
